MTN appoints two new independent non-executive directors

The MTN Group has appointed Nosipho Molope and Noluthando Gosa its two new independent non-executive directors from April.

Molope, a chartered accountant, holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of South Africa. She has been a director and chairman of the audit and risk committees for various MTN operating companies and is currently serving on the boards of several MTN operating companies, including South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia and eSwatini. She expects to resign from all MTN operating companies by end-March, including from her position as audit and risk chairman at MTN South Africa, which has started looking for her replacement.

Gosa holds a Bachelor of Communications from the University of Fort Hare, has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University and has an MBA from the University of New Brunswick. She has worked at South African communications regulator ICASA and Investec Bank and is currently the CEO of the Akhona Group. She has served on multiple boards, including Investec Asset Management (now NinetyOne), AON and Broll Property Group. She is also a non-executive director for ArcelorMittal.
